20/05/2010 - Local consultation on new police locations begins
The major changes taking place at Surrey Police are entering a new phase, as public consultation to find out where people would like to be able to meet their local police teams gets underway.
Earlier this year, Surrey Police Authority consulted with local residents on the overall package of changes put forward by the Chief Constable. It found that the majority of residents would support the changes, which will see the recruitment of up to 200 additional constables for Surrey. You can read about the results in more detail here.
Over the next few months, Surrey Police will be consulting with residents across Surrey's Boroughs & Districts about how it can best replace a number of little-used police stations with more accessible alternatives. The first of these consultations are beginning in the North and West of the county this week.
