Financial Reports - External Annual Audit Letter

Police Authorities are audited each year to make sure that they are making good use of public money and that they have the right Governance arrangements in place to ensure that this happens. These audits are conducted by the Audit Commission.

Each year, the Authority publishes two documents relating to these audits. The Annual Audit Letter contains the Auditor's final opinion on the Authority's governance arrangements and value for money over the previous year, along with any recommendations for change. The other is the Annual Governance Report, an update on the progress of the Audit in the current financial year.
