Monitoring Surrey Police Performance

Surrey Police Authority holds the Chief Constable to account by monitoring performance in all of the key areas of Surrey Police’s work. This includes:

    • Crime levels
    • Detection & resolution of crimes

  • Ensuring data quality
  • Response times

  • Tackling organised criminal groups
  • Public confidence & satisfaction in the Police
  • Call handling & other contact with the public
  • Preparedness for emergencies
  • Professional standards & complaints against the Police

Each year, following consultation with the public, partner agencies and the Chief Officers of Surrey Police, we set a series of targets for the Force to work towards in the year ahead.

Police performance in your area

Every year, we publish a summary of Surrey Police’s performance known as the Local Policing Summary. We produce one of these for each of Surrey’s 11 Boroughs and Districts. To read electronic copies of these, please click here.

You can also find out about crime levels in your area, make comparisons with other areas and find contact details for your Neighbourhood Police Team, at www.police.ukclick here for more contextual information about crime and policing in Surrey.

Peformance reports to the Police Authority

As part of our official scrutiny processes, detailed county-wide performance updates are provided to the Police Authority at quarterly intervals each year. These let us know how well the Force is progressing towards the targets set for it by the Police Authority at the beginning of the financial year. You can see the latest of these reports below.
