Consulting with Young People
The views of young people can sometimes be overlooked when decisions are made on public services, including the police. At Surrey Police Authority, we are keen that this doesn't happen, and so we are involved in a range of activities aimed at involving young people in the process of making policing decisions and consulting them on their views.
If you are under the age of 18 and live in Surrey, we want to hear from you, and there is information below about how you can tell us what you think about Surrey Police. Young people often experience the police in a different way to older people, and it is vital that we know what you think if we are to make sure that the service meets your needs too.
Out and AboutWe can often be found participating in various activities with young people in Surrey, and this page will be regularly updated with information about where you can find us:

Mock Trials - We attend the Surrey heats of the annual Mock Trials competition to speak to the young participants about their views on policing and how they feel the service should be delivered. For more information about the Mock Trials competition, please click here. We are pleased to support this event which brings the criminal justice process to life for Surrey's young people and provides a great starting point for those interested in a career around the law or criminal justice.

Mipod - Together with partner agencies, we have bought a Mipod portable diary room which is being used by different organisations to consult with young people about the issues that matter to them. For more information about the Mipod and how it works, please click here.
We always welcome the input of young people on how we consult - if you have an idea for something we could do to better consult with young people in Surrey, or are participating in or organising an event where we might be able to help, please get in touch with us on 01483 630 200 or spa@surrey.police.uk
