Police Authority to meet to discuss next stage of Business Partnering research process

Surrey Police Authority is to meet at 10am on the 8th December at Surrey Police Headquarters, Mount Browne, Guildford.

In October 2011 Surrey Police Authority gave its initial agreement for Surrey Police to conduct a procurement exercise to explore whether savings and service improvements in non-frontline services might be achieved by working with a private sector partner.

The short meeting on December 8th has been convened to allow the Members of the Authority to discuss documentation necessary to begin that exploratory procurement exercise for business partnering and confirm if Surrey Police is ready to move to the first stage in the tendering process.

The Police Authority’s standing orders dictate that it can only make decisions at a full public meeting. However, because of the commercial sensitivities involved at this stage, this item – the only substantive item on the agenda – will be taken in closed session under the terms of Section 100(A) of the Local Government Act 1972.

The Authority will release an update following the meeting to inform the public of any decisions made.
